About Us

Garddian was founded by Paul Riley in 1991 primarily as a repair facility for Auto Electrical problems in the automotive field. A qualified Auto Electrician and Electronics Engineer Paul had spent the previous 19 years working in maintenance environments for numerous automotive organisations.  

The company quickly earned a reputation for quality, cost competitive repairs and as the name spread Garddian were invited to become installers and suppliers of vehicle tracking systems. This required taking on more staff and by the end of 1993 Garddian were approved installers for Trakbak, Datatrak and Tardis for all types of vehicles within the UK and mainland Europe. 

Installation of Tracking systems and auto electrical repairs were the main stay of the business until 2002 when Garddian became heavily involved in the rework of wiring harnesses for OEM vehicle manufacturers. Teams of reworkers were recruited and trained to Technician level to work trackside providing customer support for resolution of electrical system problems, refits, and remanufacture where harness modifications were required. This was also the year when Garddian extended the automotive repair service with the employment of qualified Mechanical Technicians with the aim of providing a service second to none outside of the main dealer network.   

The objective of the newly formed Garddian UK Ltd was to concentrate on the rapidly developing Telematics market. This new technology developed from the tracking system was a major step forward for the industry and provided fleet operators and lease companies with not only a GPS (Global Positioning System) but a vehicle and driver diagnostic tool enabling fleets to improve management and cut operating costs.
